Position Overview:
We seek an experienced and dynamic Managing Director to lead a small corporate team for KIIT and oversee its portfolio of businesses, including directly managed subsidiaries. This role combines strategic leadership, operational oversight, financial reporting management, and talent development to ensure long-term success, operational excellence, and alignment across KIIT and its stakeholders. The Managing Director will be a key liaison between the Board of Directors and internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment with KIIT's mission, values, and strategic objectives.
The ideal candidate will have a background in corporate strategy, financial and project management, governance, and cross-functional leadership. The Managing Director should consider themselves a visionary leader and gain a deep understanding of portfolio operations with the ultimate goal of optimizing processes. The ideal candidate will also possess the ability to inspire and drive high performance within a values-driven, community-oriented organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Governance
- Develop and execute a comprehensive business strategy aligned with KIIT's long-term vision in coordination with subsidiaries and stakeholders.
- Oversee the development and implementation of annual business plans, including financial, operational, and strategic goals.
- Serve as the leader of KIIT’s directly managed subsidiaries, ensuring corporate strategies align with the broader organizational goals.
- Maintain high standards of governance and compliance, managing legal matters, risk mitigation, and organizational policies.
Stakeholder Engagement & External Relations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including the KIIT Board, shareholders, subsidiary leadership, community, and external partners.
- Act as the primary liaison between KIIT and its shareholders, ensuring that strategic priorities are communicated and aligned with stakeholder needs.
- Manage communications strategy, fostering partnerships, representing KIIT in public forums, and ensuring cohesive messaging across all subsidiaries.
Organizational Oversight
- Exercise oversight over KIIT operations, including corporate staff and subsidiaries, ensuring effective performance and proper risk management.
- Work closely with staff and the board of directors to monitor business performance, assess key operational metrics, and drive improvements across the portfolio.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the Board of Directors, providing reports on financial performance, strategic initiatives, and operational updates.
- Ensure transparency, accountability, and effective communication of key performance indicators (KPIs) to the board, stakeholders, and community.
Financial Management & Resource Optimization
- Support the financial planning and management processes, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and resource allocation for KIIT and its subsidiaries.
- Become keenly aware of internal and macroeconomic financial trends and provide strategic insights to support decision-making and business growth.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization, operational efficiency, and resource reallocation within the organization.
Team Leadership & Talent Development
- Lead the recruitment, hiring, and development of staff and subsidiary leadership, as needed.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning across the organization, ensuring a solid commitment to both organizational goals and community values.
- Mentor and coach staff, guiding them and helping them succeed and grow.
- Lead the development of talent pipelines and succession planning, ensuring leadership continuity across the portfolio.

- Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts to a wide range of audiences.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, public administration, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- Experience: 10 years of leadership experience in a management role.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams, manage complex operations, and drive strategic growth within a portfolio-based organization.
- Strategic Vision: Experience in corporate strategy development, financial oversight, and portfolio management.
- Financial Acumen: Strong background in financial planning, analysis, and resource optimization.
- Stakeholder Management: Expertise in managing relationships with various internal and external stakeholders, including boards, investors, and community leaders.
- Project Management: Proven ability to oversee complex projects and ensure timely, on-budget delivery while meeting quality standards.
Key Relationships:
- Reports directly to the KIIT Board of Directors.
- Collaborates closely with the staff and other teams.
- Liaises regularly with shareholders and other key community stakeholders.
- Manages staff and leads operations of directly managed subsidiaries.
Benefits & Compensation:
- Expected hiring range: $115K-$130K
- Bonus eligibility up to 15% of base salary.
